Fat monkeys lose weight, get new enclosure

July 1st, 2009 by James

An update from Asahi TV on the horribly overweight monkeys of Ohama park in Sakai, Osaka Prefecture:

As reported in June, the monkeys have made remarkable progress with their diet. Almost all of the dangerously heavy monkeys are down to safer weights, and they have been moved to a new enclosure with barriers that prevent visitors from throwing them food. According to the video, the new monkey enclosure will be open to visitors starting today.

That cut-out picture in the top-right corner looks a lot like a dancing groundhog.

(has nothing constructive to say)

OT: I think that comment right on top of mine is spam…

Wow, 30kg, now that is fat for that size. One year ago, three of those monkeys together weighed more than I, and I am 1.84m tall and consider myself overweight. :)
