Please direct your complaints about the term "Dotonbori River" to Mainichi, the BBC, the LA Times, the Guardian, Reuters, and the Japan Times. As that seems to be the English translation they have decided upon, I used it as well.

“Dotonbori River”? Huh? “Hori” *means* “canal”, which is exactly what the Dotonbori is.
