Mongoose discovered in Kagoshima

June 24th, 2009 by James

An examination of some roadkill has confirmed the presence of a wild mongoose in Kyushu:

Although they have yet to capture any living mongooses in the area, the dead mongoose found in Kagoshima raises fears that the alien species somehow made its way to Kyushu via Okinawa. Because the introduction of such a predator into the local ecosystem could reek havoc, it is illegal to import/breed/sell mongooses in Japan.

Photos posted on the internet and eyewitness accounts point towards the conclusion that there could be more wild mongooses in the Kagoshima area.

I go to Kandai and I saw a mongoose last night on my way to the gym. I know it was a mongoose man, I lived in Hawaii for ten years and yea that was a mongoose, my coworkers at my part time job dont believe me!
