Google celebrates Yokohama’s 150th birthday

Today’s logo on Google.co.jp celebrates the 150th anniversary of the opening of the port of Yokohama:

It would have been cool if they shared the logo with the users on Google.com, but I guess it wasn’t important enough for the main site.

Or more rather, there isn’t much reason for an American company to bother with the effort on the English site.

Anyways, I find it kind of funny that the 150th anniversary came not along after I just finished reading Rurouni Kenshin XD

I understand that every little special event in every single country is not important as such events happen every day.

Something like the 100th or 500th anniversary or even 200 might be more special for things.
