Sperm whale hasn’t left shallow water

May 30th, 2009 by James

Two weeks have passed since a sperm whale was spotted hanging out in shallow water near a town in Wakayama Prefecture. It’s still there, and shows little sign of leaving:

Attempts to convince the whale to head out into the ocean have failed, and it seems to be losing weight.

Somebody hasn’t harpooned it and dissected it, yet? … Whaling for “scientific purposes.”

They could organize school trips to show the kids how it’s done.

“and it seems to be losing weight.”

How do they convince it to get on a scale?

They probably just got his body measurements with a looooooong measurement tape. Some like 600 – 900 – 700, I’d say.
