Mezamashi TV shares some new snack foods that should be hitting a convenience store near you:

Cookies released in collaboration with Afternoon Tea drinks (the hosts of the show mock the model’s correct English pronunciation of “collaboration”)

That is slightly mean the hosts going after the spokes-model’s very californian (to my ear) pronunciation of “Collaboration.” The nail that sticks up gets hammered down. LOL. The whole segment looks cobbled together from dozens of individual takes for each sentence the spokes-model speaks in her slightly stilted “classroom japanese.”

I’ve never seen that spokes-model on TV, so I won’t make too many assumptions, though.

Wait, what? 「ほほ～」　is mocking? The way she said it, it sounded more like she meant it in a 「すご～い」/impressed kind of way. As a native, I didn’t find it mocking at all.

Yeah, it doesn’t seem like they were mocking it, although you can hear one of the hosts copying the way she says it – maybe that’s what they meant by “mocking”.

Anyway, these snacks look good! Especially the coconut milk churros snacks!

No, that’s Emily (AKA: applemilk1988). This chick is different, though still obviously American.

I think the real highlight of this video is the cheesy euro-dance that comes in at about 1:09.

In terms of pronunciation, it wasn’t “correct English”, it was extremely American.
Anyway, even after seeing this, I don’t think I’d buy any of those snacks…
