First you mentioned the “pattern seen previously in asian tabloids” It means that you presuppose some kind of theory or hypnosis.
Secondly you yourself admitted that “asia” could be inferred to include Japan.
Therefore it is most likely that you presuppose some sort of nihon/nihonjin-ron.

I thought Japanese schools covered logic topics earlier and in greater depth than western counterparts. Is that wrong? Or did you somehow miss a semester?
