I am with you 100% on that. I often see celebritards and show hosts acting this way on TV and I sit there fuming. My wife (japanese) thinks I am nuts but it drives me into a hulk rage every time I see this type of behavior which is all too common on TV.

Quite right you are! I realized that as soon as they showed the outside view. I loved the before/after show...I miss it much and hope it will show up on tv again soon. Agreed, fabulous design job on this one.

>>The father also notes that there is a funeral home right down the street.

That's what I call positive thinking!

I'm fairly sure this was a property featured on Before/After a couple of years ago. The architect did an amazing job with what little space they have there, and it was fascinating to see the "reform".

I love how these kinds of shows feature normal people and make local neighborhoods seem more interesting, but this host's voice and demeanor is one of the most annoying things about Japanese shows to me. The way he stares around slack-jawed and dumbly exaggerates surprise is rage-inducing. The bar and triangular house are cool, but why oh why do people want to watch someone act like this while investigating things?
