A little clip of a crying sumo (nakizumo) competition for babies held in Hiroshima over the Golden Week holiday:

Like other crying sumo events, this involved trying to make babies year cry (all in the name of good luck and health). Babies who cry the quickest and the loudest are the victors.

It’s pretty much harmless fun but as a father myself, I try not to make the baby cry so would never want to enter this contest.

I think it’s a very unique part of heritage for the Japanese people. Much better than the American Santa experience, in my opinion.
