American baby tests positive for type A influenza
Another possible case of the H1N1 flu in Japan:
A 4-month-old American baby who arrived at the U.S. Yokota Air Base in Tokyo from the United States on Friday has tested positive for the type A influenza virus in a preliminary examination, Japan’s Foreign Ministry said.
The baby and mother have been isolated at a medical facility at the base, while 13 other passengers seated near the baby on the airplane will be isolated until they are confirmed as not being infected with the new strain of the influenza subtype H1N1, the ministry said, based on information provided by the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo.
Update: It was only a seasonal flu.
