i really was not being serious as the article mentions that the sumo guys were told ahead of time about the test. i guess i was not clear nor clever.

well.. thats is a realy good question… realy, it is a very good question… i wish we had more such realy good questions here in Japan.. sure, it is a very good question.. now back to our best Sumos, who are anyway not sportlers..

PS. i wish european standarts in Japan. the armed police storming your house taking you naked out of the bath/beth to tell you that you missed the tests for 10 minutes last week.

I just want to know if the results are still judged in the following way:

Gaijin tests positive = positive, tell the press, throw him out and deport him

Japanese tests positive = “inconclusive”, test him again
Japanese tests positive again = “inconclusive”, test him again
Japanese tests positive a 3rd time = “positive”, but less serious, becasue there were already 2 “inconclusive” results!

The term used in Japanese, 抜き打ち尿検査, is “without warning/sudden urine test.”

i guess “random” loses something in the translation. what a way to make sure everything is aokay!!!
