Group protests against media treatment of foreign criminals

This video, which is currently the most-viewed in today’s News category on YouTube Japan, shows a group of protesters marching through Warabi City and shouting stuff about foreign criminals and the media:

They seem to have a problem with foreign criminals and visa overstayers, and are not happy with the sympathetic coverage the Japanese media gave to the Calderon family. The Calderon family has lived in Warabi for many years, and its citizens and city government showed considerable support for them, so the demonstration was held there.

This demonstration and its video are just promoting more sympathy for Calderon family by attacking an innocent young girl.

I fully support the right of stupid, racist jerks to openly pronounce that they are stupid, racist jerks without even hiding their faces under white sheets.

Now if only we could also make sure to eliminate any hypocrisy by making sure that when their pensions come through in the future, the percentage of the pension being paid for by foreign laborer’s pension taxes is dedcuted.

And I bet most of their flags were made in China. 😉

  I appreciate the comment by 白鴉. But I don’t hope people like this to get hammered down. Most rational people will look at them and see how absurd their point of view is. Seeing them parade around should only keep more people from joining such a silly cause.
  
  Also I think freedom of speech (even if it is dumb) is a great thing. The only thing that really bothers me about this is that it seems like a normal residential neighborhood. That would be an awful thing to have to put up with if you were trying to enjoy some peaceful time at home.

I agree with 白鴉, this small group doesn’t represent all Japanese living in Japan. But it does reveal and echo a certain lack of understanding of the “other”, and is most definitely unjustified xenophobia IMO.

Japan is definitely not the only free country that has xenophobic citizens, but it’s the one that I live in right now. And I must say, this kind of stuff is a little scary.

I wonder if these people would be so brave if they actually were face-to-face with that “little girl” or her parents.

  It is scary (perhaps “heartbreaking” is a better word), but let’s look at the bright side – there aren’t that many of them and they were loud but completely non-violent. I’ve seen worse anti-illegal-immigration rallies in other countries, that’s for sure.

I will make this video in public so that our country will do the same. IF you must know, there are a large percentage of japanese and other foreigners illegally residing here as well.

Nr. 1 criminals are Japanese not foreigners!!! These protesters are brainwashed by GoJ and TV tarentos shows. Anyway, for them everyday killing child, family members, schoolgirls is OK, but overstaying foreigner is not, even though they did not commit any criminal act.
Japan will go down sooner or later.
