“Do you know Taepodong?”
A FTV reporter hits the streets of America to prove that people there don’t know about North Korea’s plan to launch a rocket:
Instead of asking people if they know about that, he asks them the question, “Do you know Taepodong?“. Both people asked have no clue what he is talking about. The one guy thought the Japanese reporter was asking him about tendon.
Not surprising, since even people in America who follow the news about North Korea would probably be unfamiliar with the model name of the rocket. (And FTV, which employs English-speaking staff to monitor the American news broadcasts for mentions of the North Korea issue, should know that the American press almost never uses the term “Taepodong,” preferring to refer to use terms like “long range missile” or “ICBM.”)
