Cargo plane crash lands at Narita Airport

A FedEx cargo plane crash landed this morning at Narita Airport:

Apparently strong winds had something to do with it.

Update: It has been announced that the pilot and co-pilot were killed in the crash.

They just said on the TV news that the pilot died in the crash.

I would think the strong winds are the key… today is VERY windy in Tokyo.

As was yesterday… when I returned home form Europe. The camera view of the landing had us coming in at an angle to the runway… and correcting just before landing.
It was rough (and scary)… and after today’s events I am thankful to have got home safely yesterday.

Yes, it was really extremely windy that day. I also thought so when I stepped outside in the morning. I only heard of it in the evening, but I immediately thought of the strong winds as well.
