Make sure you carry nothing like a pocket knife of even scissors or anything the J cops can find in an unwarranted search and use as an excuse to harass you endlessly to the point of you daring to attempt to leave, at which point they can arrest you for “interfering in the duties of a public official”

Aw, too bad, I’ll arrive at Narita airport at roughly 10:40 AM this Sunday, so I’ll be just a few hours late in Tokyo. Otherwise I’d have checked it out.

Don’t get it.

1) Japan isn’t much of a surveillance society, especially compared to the UK.
2) Japanese society is very trusting so I don’t see what that has to do with anything.
3) Reading books aloud has nothing to do with surveillance as far as I can tell.

Sounds like this guy just felt like doing a flash mob for the hell of it.

Flash mobs don’t really strike me as a form of protest, but I’ll still be interested to see how things go.
