Japanese police display life-size model of Tatsuya Ichihashi

March 19th, 2009 by James

Almost two years have passed since British teacher Lindsay Ann Hawker was brutally murdered in Chiba Prefecture. Japanese police have yet to locate Tatsuya Ichihashi, the man who killed her. Last week, it was announced that the officer in charge of the case had been replaced, and today they rolled out a life-size model of Ichihashi that will be prominently displayed in public places:

A button on the model plays a sample of Ichihashi’s voice when pressed. Copies will be installed at five locations in Chiba Prefecture.

Those with information about Ichihashi’s whereabouts are urged to contact the police at: 047-391-0110

“yet to locate”

How about “yet to RElocate”?

Dig entirely aimed at police incompetence in letting him walk away from 9 cops.

Another person mentioned something similar this week but for the past decade or so, every time I think of Japanese police actually doing ANYTHING, I automatically hear Yakety Sax playing in the background.

Most unfortunate.

If anyone knows anything that could lead to his arrest, contact the police at: 047-391-0110.*

*This number is only to be used for tips. Do not use it if you are pretending to work for a newspaper and demanding to know why on the poster Ichihashi is wanted for “abandonment of a corpse” rather than “murder”. Call the PR desk for that, so they can do their jobs and ignore cranks.

So what’s up with that “abandonment of a corpse” rather than “murder”?

Preliminary, airtight charge they know they can bust him for. SOP. Bust him, hold him, get whatever you need out of him (if anything, no one but the cops knows what all evidence they have) to hang him for murder.

Anyone who has followed this case in earnest already knows he’s fled to the Phillipines. I mean, gimme a break, it’s been 2 years since the J-police failed to capture this murderer (Because that’s what he is! Not a corpse-abandoner, but a corpse-maker!) of an innocent woman.
He has evaded cops for this long, the ONE officer in charge has been replaced, he’s still not wanted for murder, and chances are he’s gone from Chiba prefecture.
This woman will never find justice or peace while the J-police are on duty.

Maybe Jucelino Luz could be made as chief-officer of the case.
