Japanese TV show makes fun of “Pull Your Pants Up” law

This local news spot from the city of Opa-Locka in Florida doesn’t seem aware of the fact that being featured on a Japanese TV show about ridiculous laws is something they shouldn’t exactly be proud of:

I’m so tired of seeing EVERY Japanese show featured in the U.S. as being a Japanese “game show.” Maybe it’s just me.

No, it’s not just you. Considering how few game shows they actually have in this country, it’s damn irritating to here every single Japanese broadcast being labeled a “game show.” Especially since one of my favorites (Million Kazoku) recently ended. Hide & Seek for cash – now THAT’S a game show!

Wow, they do seem to be pretty proud about being featured in the show, but really, they should be ashamed and rethink their silly law.

I can’t say I am in favor of that law.
People should have the right to look like dumbasses in public if they want to.

What an embarrassment for that town. If they are going to enact mindless clothing laws like that, how about ones that actually make sense? Like all bankers and lawyers must wear clown outfits during business hours? Mandatory $10,000 fine and 1 month imprisonment for non-compliance.

No wonder they think it’s a weird law; the justification for it is really sketchy.

Being from Florida and having gone to school in a ghetto, I started cracking up when I saw this. I know other states have their fair share of stupid people as well, but when you deal with them for a whole 4 years you really just stop being surprised at the stuff they do. Still, 10 points to the OPA area peeps. At least you can say your stupidity got you on international television.
