Blood: The Last Vampire Live Action Movie Preview
This looks like it will be, considering the nature of the beast– what with a vampire girl that hunts other vampires while decked in a Japanese schoolgirl outfit, a decent action flick. It has been interesting to watch the evolution of the Blood series, from the oddly English-laden original short anime movie way back in the year 2000, to a crappy, barely-related anime series, a video game, novels, etc.to where we are now.

Why does this make me think of that Chun-Li movie that just came out…?

The Anime series wasn’t that. I started watching when it first came out in japan then I moved back to the states and they picked it up on Cartoon Network. I wouldn’t say it was the best ever but it is better than a lot of others I have watched over the years that were so bad I can’t even remember their names. The movie looks good though not great but good.

Sigh…I’m so tired of vampires I could fall asleep just thinking about them. My kids will love this, though, whatever language it’s in.

Greetings ¬
I am actually looking forward to this film.
I have been a fan of the Series since the beginning…
Blood: The Last Vampire (to me anyway) was a great small film, which showed the progress of 3d animation and the combination of language.
Blood+ The Series… was a little (odd) to say the least… but entertaining nonetheless, as I seen a surge of cosplayers becoming Saya
I read the Graphic novel and serialization, I liked the graphic novel best, as it followed suit with the original Blood and maintained the look the main character.
I played the game and was impressed…
Now a film? Of course I will watch this… it will be eye candy laden goodness…
Better fair that was/will/is released currently… Streetfighter (the Chun-Li movie) and the dreaded Dragonball film.
I am curious though, why did they chose a Korean actress (instead) of a Japanese one?
Not, that I am complaining… just curious.
Thanks for the read!
Respects!

For the same reason an Aussie played Wolverine?

Hollywood producers generally go for a strong feminine look, so pretty much take any Asian girl who’s tall, pretty, and can speak understandable English. Kind of silly question though since Hollywood almost never casts actors/actresses by ethnicity, but I understand your curiosity.
I didn’t really like Blood and as a movie it doesn’t really have much that makes it stand out from Blade other than the lead being Assiiaan. Fingers crossed for Hellsing…

The camera work and fight choreography look really nice, and Jun Ji-hyun is of course awesome.

Gotta see this, mostly because of Jun Ji-hyun… she’s damn hot!

well, since this is actually a asian produced movie of a Japanese remake, it probably won’t suck as much as all those Hollywood remake of the original amazing Japanese works.
I’m not interested in watching Dragonball or Chun-li movies, but this looks interesting. Plus I like that “sassy girl”.

tyson: A Hellsing live-action movie (in the right hands) would blow this out of the water and wompa-stomp it’s face. Who would be interesting/intimidating enough to play as Alucard?
That established, Blood looks quite entertaining.

Hellsing? Ug, what nerdiness hath I summoned upon this unsuspecting world?
Hellsing, huh? yeah… I thought of that, too. I love the Hellsing story and think that if a live action film is made, hopefully as good as the manga/anime or better, it would be one of the best vampiric movies ever! beats any other. I especially think of it when I watched other vampire movies, western or asian, and compared it in my mind. I.e. when Twilight came out, I thought Hellsing would definitely beat that, same with Blood, which we’ll see, and especially Vampire Hunter D.
same with transformer the movie. It’s good, but other mecha anime/manga if made into a live-action, would definitely pounds that one! Like any Gundam series! too bad there won’t be one to compare…. not yet anyway…
all in all, the original, the anime and manga. definitely wins by far in comparsion.

Lol. The trailer was kinda weird. Some scenes seemed were visually appealing I do admit, but the story seems odd imo. I’ve watched the animation, both Blood: TLV and Blood+ (which SUCKED big hairy donkey ballz). Blood: TLV (animation) was pretty decent, but it seems like the live-action won’t be following the same story, bit disappointed in that, but the animation didn’t really have much of a story to begin with and kinda started off in what seems to be the middle of things. I might go watch it, most likely not, but if I do, I hope it turns out good (or at least worth $10 good).
