The Japanese/Romanian couple living in the apartment seem to enjoy its wacky interior、and don’t have a problem paying 250,000 yen a month in rent for the place.

Off-topic: Simona’s Japanese is painful to listen to. But hey we’ve all been there.

On-topic: No way I could live in that place. The stripes are bad enough but imagine how painful it would be colliding with those stupid scalloped arches.

On topic for the off-topic point that I think is worth noting. This programme resisted the temptation, which I have seen a lot, to render gaijin Japanese (no matter how fluent) in katakana. And I completely agree about those scalloped arches – that was the first thing that I thought of. Ouch.

I also thought the same about those door frames. I couldn’t live in that place, those corners put to stress on my eyes. I can’t stand having something ‘cornery’ near my eyes sometimes.
