If I were one of his co-workers, I'd want a raise too. I knew a woman from Okinawa who found a live bomb while playing with her friends back in the sixties. She claimed they kicked it all over the place before finally rolling it home to her horrified parents. She really was lucky that it didn't go off. Poor man.
