how come all the sudden no one is jumping up screaming “racism”? Where are the crying whiners from that Louis Armstrong thread? Like that Jordan dude?

Suddenly it’s just harmless impersonations when it just involve putting on fake nose and chest hair to imitate a certain famous Indian? Yet when it’s Louis Armstrong, people should not attempt to look like him physically…you know..the obvious part: darker skin tone.

I don’t think I said racism in any post I made. I simply said it would be easier for me to take the impersonation seriously if the make up wasn’t so ridiculous. Read again flyboy.

Btw, Freddy Mercury wasn’t Indian. He was a Parsi who grew up in India.

Do you know anything about Parsis? What are Parsis if they’re not Indian?
I am a Parsi and I am an Indian citizen just like all other Parsis. Please don’t speak on our behalf. Many of us are tired with this ‘Freddie is a Parsi but not Indian’ crap. It’s like saying ‘Barack Obama is African-American but not American’.

Freddie grew up in India because he was a Parsi. Bombay is where his parents family lived. And that is where he was sent to live as a child. It’s a different story that he never acknowledged his Parsi origins. Doesn’t change the fact that he was a Parsi/Indian.

I didn’t see this as racism. This is obviously an attack against homosexuals (not a race).

Seriously though, I thought the first line he did was pretty good (before he got on stage). But on stage he had a much heavier accent, I wonder if the first line was really him. I give it a 2/5.

Umm, I take it *Sarcasm* isn’t weirdo’s strong point?

Same acts get rolled out twice a year…It’s the reason Tsutaya etc do very brisk business now…

Sorry, I missed the rest of the post after reading the first two. And I know some people that would actually think that way.

I’m pretty sure the first line was actually Freddie himself and not the impersonator. After he comes to the stage you can clearly hear the Japanese accent in the singing.

Cool (well actually maybe not).
By the way it’s “Freddie” not “Freddy”.

Montserrat Caballe: “The difference between Freddie and almost all the other rock stars was that he was selling the voice.”

Here I’ve tried to collect all notable tributes and quotes on Freddie Mercury from peers: http://www.tributespaid.com/quotes-on/f/freddie-mercury
