Hilton offers 80 dollar parties in Japan
With the dollar hitting all-time lows vs. the yen, stores across Japan are trying to make consumers forget about the recession by marking down prices on imported products and holding rising yen sales. The Hilton hotel in Osaka has taken a slightly different approach by organizing a “$80 Party” plan.
The price of the party is adjusted every day based on the exchange rate, a system that would reward people who reserve parties expecting the value of the dollar to stay low.
