Koji Murofushi gets his bronze medal
It seems that the expectation that hammer thrower Koji Murofushi would be awarded a bronze medal was correct:
Murofushi rose from fifth place to bronze after the International Olympic Committee’s executive board met in Lausanne, Switzerland, on Thursday and decided to strip the second- and third-placed athletes of their medals after a test detected the use of a banned substance. It is the second Olympics in a row for Murofushi’s placing to improve due to a doping-related disqualification. In 2004 he advanced from second place to a gold medal after the first-placed Hungarian athlete lost his medal over a doping violation.
