Sample Lab store gives customers free stuff
ATV’s foreign reporters recently took a trip to the Sample Lab store in Tokyo:
The store, which opened in Harajuku last summer, does not actually sell anything. Instead, it distributes free products to customers who agree to fill out surveys about the items. Members are limited to 5 free samples a day, with limited quantities of each individual product. The order in which members can enter the store and claim products is determined by drawing lots, so those with low numbers have the best chance of grabbing the product samples they want.
*To participate, you must become a member by paying a one time sign-up fee of 300 yen plus a 1000 yen annual membership fee.
