Comedian injured during taping of wacky television challenge

Tsukaji Muga, a Japanese comedian who has entertained millions of viewers by regularly participating in wacky stunt challenges on Haneru no Tobira, injured himself during a taping of this week’s show:

FTV announced yesterday that comedian Tsukaji Muga (37) broke his leg during recent filming of a variety show. He and a group of fellow comedians were filming the popular “All Star Athletic Games” corner for the “Haneru no Tobira” show on December 5.

Looks like he was giving good advice all those times he said “don’t try this at home” to all the little kids watching him on TV.

will they stop all this stupid and dangerous nonsense? i doubt it. tv shows just love to put their talento in such horrible, stupid and sometimes dangerous positions and the public apparently eats it up.

I’m pretty sure these guys know what they are getting into. It’s not like this guy hasn’t been on this show before, he knows what might happen. It’s like going on to Survivor and saying “I didn’t know I was going to be sleeping in the dirt and having to hunt down my own food”. I’m sure these shows take safety very seriously, but accidents happen. Might as well say don’t televise sports, or the news. We can all sit at home and watch the weather channel.

OMG Spoiler Alert! Guess he’s not going to make it in whatever stunt they’re attempting. Then again, the All-Star Athletic Games are super hard and unforgiving. Here’s hoping he makes a speedy recovery.

I’m sure they’ll make an episode revolving around his broken leg and all the wacky hijinks they can put him and the rest of the cast through.

Add me to the list of people surprised this doesn’t happen more often. Apparently Japanese comedians and talents are very durable.

Reminds me of the incident 15 years ago where the lead singer of Hong Kong’s No.1 band Beyond, Wong Ka Kui, fell to his death during a japanese game show.

According to wikipedia they were signed to a japanese label records and produced a few japanese singles and an album as well.
