The most-viewed video on YouTube Japan shows a performance by Yajima Beauty Salon in which a mishap with a microphone has no effect whatsoever on the audio of the song. The video’s description in Japanese is something along the line of “Yajima Beauty Salon lip-syncing exposed!”:

Did anyone out there actually think that they were not lip-syncing their performances?

I assumed they were lip-syncing to begin with. With their act I’d think it hard not to. lol I don’t see how this will detract from their popularity at all.

This is soo dumb! EVERY band or solo artist I see performing on a japanese variety show lip-syncs. I assumed that was just how things were done over there. I also assumed that everyone knew they were lip-syncing (usually it’s pretty obvious) but now i’m not so sure…
