What is Taro Aso reading?

December 2nd, 2008 by James

According to Observing Japan, Taro Aso has been letting the people know what books he’s reading these days. Aso used to enjoy telling folks about his love of comic books, but now it looks like he wants to be seen as a serious reader. One of the titles on his list is John Kenneth Galbraith’s The Great Crash of 1929.

Sounds like someone has had a word in his ear about the whole comic thing

I assume he still reads the comics. His handlers have twigged to the liability of not having a “serious”, “official” list. Now they have one. “Oh, and let’s list an ENGLISH book! That’ll impress the hell out of everyone, and many will think he’s reading it IN THE ORIGINAL, ha-ha. The rest will just think he’s actually reading it, lofl.” All those folk who think it makes a difference what the aso reads! ha-ha. And those folk who think it makes a difference that many people think it makes a difference what the aso reads. Ha-ha-ha!
