Crayon Shin-chan teaches foreigner about Japanese culture

December 2nd, 2008 by James

In this random wacky clip I came across today on Youtube, Shinosuke responds to a visit foreigner’s request to be taught traditional Japanese greetings and culture (the clip is in Japanese, but one should be able to understand it pretty well just by watching their actions):

So I got fired today… apparently pulling down my pants and waddling around was NOT a good greeting in a Japanese institution.

Shin-chan is also being broadcasted here in Germany, but I don’t like it at all. To me it’s just not funny.

This episode aired in english on Adult Swim not too long ago, with the foreign man as a french/italian/something man. I had been wondering what they were actually talking about!

Shin-chan is fantastic. Used to watch it all the time when it was subbed on Hawaii TV. Too bad the US DVD release is dubbed only.

Shin-chan kinda jumped the shark when Himawari came along. Some of the movies are interesting too, especially the one about “Hendaland” and its view of Showa Nostalgia.

Well, you know, some folks fantasize about Sailor Moon, and some folks like little boys that show off their butts….
