The princess dress isn’t cutting it. If it makes her feel good, that’s fine, but I feel like she’s parading it around more than doing it for herself. Who’s she trying to convince? The only problem I have is that she’s a leech, and her husband’s the sap. What a stupendous waste of money that eye-sore of a fashion is.

I think the problem most of us have is not the item itself but the addiction (her case : princess fashion) to it. We should control it or we would be manipulated by the addiction.

It’s really cute if you do this style moderately but those are just too expensive. I agree with Montsan that it’s a concern if they have trouble with getting enough food on the table.

I think the problem most of us have is not the fashion itself but the superficial and shallow behavior behind this girl’s purchases. The fact that it’s strongly implied that this girl’s spending habits are forcing her and her husband to rely on food hand-outs from her parents is all the more reason for concern.

All these negative comments. Its not our problem if they spend so much money, its theirs. We get the added bonus of looking at interesting fashion, and they get to have fun.

Looks nice, if at times gaudy, if you ask me.

The importance placed upon the superficial is extremely sad. As for the style, it’s no more extreme than other styles and to each their own – but it’s Disney princess not European Princess. No European aristocrat would be seen dead dressing like that (even Marie Antoinette had better taste, in tailoring if nothing else.)

Ummm, this woman should be locked up for having mental problems, as well as her husband.

Dropping a G on a dress is a reaction to the economic slowdown??

If she really is dropping multiple Gs per month, and her husband lets her, and they can’t afford food, that is just ignant on his part.

Liking things just because they are pretty. That’s totally fine if we are talking about things like sunsets, snow-capped mountains, the ocean, etc., you know, things that are FREE. However, to drop Gs for them.

Hey, at least these people give plenty of subject material to Tokyo’s photographers.

Life of the average nihonjin:
6am wake.
610 eat rice and miso soup
620 poop
630 run to train
645-750 sleep on train
800 punch in and stare at desk for two hours
1000 bathroom and vending machine break
1010 do one hour of real work
1110 stare at desk and wait for lunch
1230 lunch time (sleep on a park bench or in car)
1330 return to desk, stare at it for one hour
1430 bathroom break – run to combini for a bento.
1445 return to desk, eat bento
1515 time for another hour of work
1615 bathroom
1620 40 minutes of work
1700 stare at desk and wait for the manager to go home
1900 manager leaves
1901 run to train
1915-2020 sleep on train
2022 get picked up at local station by family member
2040 eat dinner and watch TV
2130 bath
2200 go to bed.

Seeing this reminded me about a friend of mine who teaches at Meijigakuin University, the campus is somewhere outside Tokyo – He refers to it as Major Fashion Victim University.

I like her comment: “I am always researching how I can improve the look.”

I suggest that she napalms her closet and just walks away.

Well that certainly makes me think of Kamikaze Girls. If they can all look as good as Kyoko Fukada while doing it, they’ve got my support.
