JLPT practice site: Read The Kanji

November 15th, 2008 by James

The 2008 Japanese Language Proficiency Test will be held in less than a month!

In addition to using some of the JLPT kanji & reading practice links from our earlier post, those preparing for the test might want to try out ReadTheKanji.com’s online flashcard system:

I’ve been playing around with it for the last week, and I think I like it a little better than Anki.

How can you like it better than anki? They’re two different tools that have different purposes >_>

Your reasoning doesn’t make sense. Personally, I like video games better than fire ants. Totally different things, but you can still like one better than the other. Plus, these tools are really not so different.

And thanks for this post. I like this tool a lot so far. I’m quite fond of how you have you actually type the answer. That, to me, gives it a one-up on Anki, where it’s just pressing 1, 4, 3, 3, 5, 5, 5, 2 or whatnot over and over and over. Not that I’m talking bad about it, because I do like it; but personally, I think that I’ll be using this more for the foreseeable future.

I wholeheartedly agree. I’ve noticed a marked change in what I remember because I actually have to type the response and interact, as opposed to like you said, hit 1,3,5,4,4,4,4,5,2,1.
