Morinaga issues recall of Hi-chew candy
If you’re wondering why that Hi-chew candy you ate the other day tasted a bit rubbery, it might be because it actually contained rubber:
Morinaga has issued a product recall after receiving 28 complaints in the last few months from customers who found rubber-like foreign objects in their Hi-chew candies. An investigation found that a piece of an employee’s rubber glove may have fallen into a vat of Hi-chew ingredients at a Morinaga factory in Hyogo Prefecture, so the candies produced there (Grape and Green Apple flavor Hi-Chew with an expiration date of June 2009) are being recalled.
