Police raid love hotels in Kobe
Love hotels that rent rooms to couples at hourly rates are pretty common in Japan, but that doesn’t mean that neighborhoods welcome the construction of the somewhat sleazy businesses. Local governments often try to block the construction of new love hotels in certain areas, making some prospective love hotel owners disguise the nature of their business when obtaining permits.
The video below shows police raiding three love hotels in Hyogo Prefecture that lacked proper registration, with one of the hotels having been registered as a normal ryokan:
A total of 5 disguised love hotels have been raided by Hyogo police so far this year.

In a country with a declining population you would think they’d encourage anything they can to reverse that. But I wouldn’t want a love hotel in my neighborhood so….oh hello kettle, how are you?
