U.S. Marines in Okinawa ordered to stay away from residential districts & schools
Strict new orders for U.S. Marines stationed in Okinawa:
Servicemen and women will not be allowed to enter schools unless they are students or parents of students, and must have written permission from schools to speak to pupils on the premises. Residential areas are also off-limits, other than roads and sidewalks, as are cemeteries — deemed “sacred to the Okinawan people” — and certain areas, such as sports fields and fishery harbors, around Camp Schwab in Nago and Camp Hansen in Kincho, unless they are accompanied by local residents.
