mallard, it is not true that all Calicoes are female. The number of male Calicoes is very low and they are usually sterile. But they are male nonetheless.

Nobody rally cares if he’s a female, they till want to make him a “ナイト”　instead of a “デーム”. The suggested titles for Tama are たま様 or たま卿.

(If you are annoyed by my use of “he” for most cats regardless of gender, would you prefer that I call Tama “it”?)

i thought those titles were no longer allowed in japan. and also – isn`t tama a female or am i wrong? if so, she would be “dame tama.”

That cat’s presence has done more for their community than most people do for theirs. The cat oddly deserves it, but I can think of some others that deserve it more.
