Saizeriya pizzas contained toxic chemical melamine

I hope none of you out there have been eating a lot of Saizeriya pizza lately:
A Japanese restaurant chain served small amounts of the toxic chemical melamine in its pizza due to powdered milk imported from China, the health ministry said Monday.
Saizeriya detected the chemical – which is behind a global health scare that has sickened thousands of babies in China – in dough from pizzas served at branches in northern and eastern Japan on October 1 and 2.
The amount was small and should not harm diners, a ministry official said, adding that there were no reports of people falling sick.

Ewww… I love Saizeriya, that’s too bad. While they are good, proves chain stores are bad. There’s so much good local Italian in Japan.
True, but if that local Italian restaurant was using powdered milk from China….
And considering how much of the food in Japan comes from China, the odds would probably be pretty good that even the local non-chain restaurants are using Chinese ingredients.
My precious cheese focaccia!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
Oh, how I will miss your 189 yenned garlic encrusted fluffy bread. But the time has come for us to part, for your powdered milk content will be the end of me.
I ate their 2 weeks ago and did get a stomach ache. Maybe this was why.
Not Saizeriya!I like that restaurant because it’s a perfect combination of european and japanese style.Really sorry to hear that.Isn’t any chance it’s only a nasty trick by some rivals?
Uhhh… ok SAIZERIYA this means also all the other chains that are part of this company??? Jonathon’s, Skylark, Gusto —they are all the same company, aren’t they? Food is all the same.
Well if it doesn’t kill you it makes you stronger right?
