Jenkins sells rice, talks about North Korean terrorism

Former defector to North Korea Charles Robert Jenkins was in Saitama yesterday, promoting Sado Island’s agricultural products and its efforts to help reintroduce the crested ibis to Japan:

The press asked Jenkins to comment on the decision of the United States government to remove North Korea from its list of official state sponsors of terrorism. As the husband of a Japanese abductee and someone that lived as a virtual prisoner in North Korea for decades, Jenkins strongly believes that the country should not have been removed from the terrorism list.

he made the choice to defect. he’s lucky that he got off. i guess now the japanese government get to pimp him.

i wonder what would have happened if jenkins married a south korean woman that escaped or was repatriated to her home country, would he receive the same treatment that japan and the usa gave him?

screw jenkins! i strongly believe that he should have been jailed in the usa.

Jenkins was an un-sophistacted men when he defected. OK, Ok, who has not made a dad decision in their lives. It’s mertely a case thaqt his decision caused a lot of suffering for him. But, he met a lovely lady, had two children, and now is released from captivity. I know, a stupid decision, but hey, I have paid a lot less for my stupid decisons. I hope he finds happines. He has a loving wife and children, so in the end, if i was in his place, i would be happy.

Ask a man who has just found his way out of a scorching, uninviting desert what he thinks about the desert itself, and I guarantee you he will have nothing good to say about it. That doesn’t make the desert tortise an evil beast for living there, though.

Asking Jenkins what he feels about NK is pointless because his answer will be undoubtedly biased. After all, if he enjoyed his time as a virtual prisoner there, why would he have left for Japan?
