Japanese art lights up the Seine
A cool event in Paris:
The three-day luminous pageant, which kicked off on Thursday, is part of a series of events commemorating the 150th anniversary of Japanese-French relations this year.
Motoko Ishii, a lighting designer, and her daughter Akari planned the event, in which images of Japan — ranging from ukiyo-e prints to natural landscapes — were depicted with colorful lights cast from vessels floating on the Seine to the banks of the river and 25 bridges along it.
