Indeed, much gratitude and thanks for the heads up. I’d have missed it. Watching it right now… only two past the first stage so far…

This is such a cool competition, and I am lucky enough to catch it while flipping channels here in Tokyo (watching stage 3 of it now). I am so glad that I decided to stay in tonight ;)

I am disappointed with the final round, it was too hard and no one could win it.

I caught Makoto’s try at the 3rd stage, and all I gotta say is that that must be heartbreaking for the poor guy

somegirl,
And imagine having watched it for several years with no one ever finishing it. That’s what Japanese audiences had between the 4th and 17th competitions. And if it were easy…there would be no point.

Anyway, liveblog is finished for the time being:

“My TBS” = Tokyo Broadcasting System?

jatwood must be getting TBS on a affiliate like MBS (in Kansai). The affiliates don’t always carry all the TBS shows, even in primetime. In the case of MBS when I lived in Kansai, this was not always a bad thing – MBS programs were often better than what the Edo-ko could think up anyway. ;-)

Jatwood left his comment from a Verizon IP address, meaning that he is probably in the United States. I fear that he may have assumed that this post was referring to the American TBS (no relation to Tokyo Broadcasting Service).

Damn, these guys are good!

Maybe we could get some of them to catch Tokyo’s Saru-chan.
