Roho told committee that he bought marijuana in America
Mainichi reports that Russian sumo wrestler Roho has admitted he bought marijuana:
“I obtained marijuana from a black singer during the tour of Los Angeles (in June),” the wrestler was quoted as saying.
At first both Roho and Hakurozan repeatedly denied having smoked the drug, but Roho reportedly confessed after the committee told him, “We want you to tell the truth; we won’t tell your stablemaster.”
They later went ahead and told his stablemaster, and as you can see, they also told the press!
Roho had told the press he had never seen, touched, or smoked marijuana. He has responded to the new press reports by claiming he was linguistically duped:
Regarding the confession about obtaining marijuana in Los Angeles, Roho reportedly said “I don’t remember it,” and was quoted as saying, “I only understand about 80 percent Japanese.”
