So basically, because the US is giving us money, that allows them to interfere in our affairs. I’ve heard this argument so many times. I thought I’d dealt with it already. Well, I for one am not worried about the Philippines losing American aid, so I’m not threatened by that.

We already know our administration is an American flunky without Americans having to tell us, thank you very much.

And thanks for reminding me about 1991. (Really, the Americans would never have pulled out if Mt. Pinatubo hadn’t erupted.) Funnily enough, the Philippines was in some ways, in better shape back then than it is now.

As to groups like the MILF, have you heard the new theory making the rounds here? People are saying that maybe the US wants to continue existing, to justify their continued presence here. Interesting.

Well, the answer is quite simple – The majority of citizens must demand their gov’t to demand a U.S. pullout from the region by electing officials who hold the same view, in which case along with the U.S. forces the Philippines will lose the financial support of the U.S. aid budget for building new roads, schools, ports, and medical facilities. It happened in 1991, and it can happen again. Next time, make sure you don’t elect new officials who want the U.S. to come back.

Until that happens, the gov’t of the Philippines will continue to request U.S. support to fight against groups like the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF?!), Abu Sayyaf, and Rajah Solaiman.

Personally, I’m voting for a U.S. pullout from all hostile regions in the Middle East as well as the Philippines, because it’s an an enormous waste of tax money on a lost cause, and that money can be put to much better use.

As a United States of American who chooses not to live in the States, I found this frightening because it comes off as satire, but he is actually dead serious about in his hate for the U.S. and Japan, abolish the system, f**k the man disillusioned angry teenager mentality. Toyama is just an attention seeker, who wants to show himself as a mad man, when he really is not.
He fails because he is not a professional comedian (such as Minoru Torihada), nor a true mad man (such as Jesus Mitsuo Matayoshi). That’s why he’s only moderately funny.

As for the Wikipedia entry, I believe much of its article was edited by Toyama himself. [citation needed]
