A type of Water Sprite from a Japanese Folklore. Its somewhat humanoid creature but more like a frog with a hard turtle shell on its back. There’s a Japanese Folklore movie called “The War with the Goblins” or the “The Great Yokai War” which is filled with Japanese Folklores like Kappa, Yuki Onna (Woman in the Snow), Tengu and others. The only way I can describe the movie it’s adult verison of Labyrinth…

He wasn’t a guest, the titles on the side of the screen read “Beat Takeshi’s Mysterious video files”. It was one of those “special programs” he hosts (and probably produced as well).

That alone should tell you how credible it is. How he got to be so highly regarded in France I’ll never know, but then again, they also think Jerry Lewis is funny and voted Gerard Depardieu the “sexiest man in France”.

Kappa, haha. They wouldn’t be able to swim that fast anyway. They have turtle shells.

I just showed that the deer that has been following me since I was in Nara and it told me that Kappa would never be so careless. It said that there may be a fox connected to this video.
