Pictures in Animal Fur: Hokkaido Pony & Bird Dog

August 13th, 2008 by James

Here are a couple clips from Japanese TV shows about animals that happen to have patterns on their fur that resemble certain things.

Video 1: Hokkaido Pony

This pony at a farm in Hokkaido has a Hokkaido-shaped mark on his fur! Apparently she is pregnant, and it is hoped that she will pass on the Hokkaido mark to her offspring.

Video 2: Bird Dog

The light-colored fur on one of the back legs of this dog is said to resemble a bird. When he runs, it supposedly looks like the bird on his leg is also running.

Zannen-dakedo, the pony’s baby would have a Hokkaido patch only if it was cloned, like with Dolly the sheep. Well, actually probably not even then.
