Reuters reports on Mongolian children training to become sumo champions in Japan:

More than 900 children turned up at the “Future Championships” sumo contest. Contestants took to the ring at the 12-day long event with the support of their families cheering them on. Later this month the Japanese Sumo Association is organising its first training tour in Mongolia where some 120 wrestlers from Japan are expected to show off their skills.

Both of Japan’s current sumo grand champions are Mongolian, and with the popularity of the sport booming in Mongolia, it’s not unlikely that the country will produce a few future grand champions.
