Joe O’Donnell’s photos of Nagasaki

Sad moments for those who lived in those terrible times, and still there are people who thinks that it was the best thing to do by killing thousands of thousands of civilians. I cant understand why some people are proud fo that terrible event.

The U.S. looks great when someone like him speaks up.
And the U.S. is the country most Japanese admire.
He is right; Japan did many terrible things to Asian countries and whatever but killing innocent children and their mother was wrong.
He set an example for the few Japanese who are trying to say that Japan did nothing wrong;they should learn from their counterparts how it looks to others when they don’t admit the wrongs Japan committed in the past.

I’m curious to know if his words were translated literally, specifically when he mentions Japan’s army’s wrong doings. Or does the subbing avoid that?

Back in high school, there was a class discussion about whether the US should have dropped the bomb or not. When my teacher pointed the question, out of 30 students in my class, I was the only one who said that it was not a right decision.
Other students were rolling their eyes, and told me that it was a “necessary thing to do.” But as I have seen in the pictures of the casualties in Japan, in both Nagasaki and Hiroshima, it is just unbelievable how cruel people can be to others.
If people actually see those pictures, like the one that your father took, with the boy biting his lips waiting for his brother to be cremated along with many others, people will question themselves, was it really “necessary.”
Every time I see Hiroshima/Nagasaki pictures from WWII, I always think that a-bombs should never be used.

What is wrong with praising An American citizen who said his country did injustice to another? I am suggesting the Japanese who speak as if Japan did nothing wrong to learn from him.
