Well… I hate to bring up this little debate again, but in a similar vein to S.Korean foreign affairs is this little news article…

I wonder how S.Korea can worry about relations with other countries (Japan -Liancourt / USA -beef) when they cannot sort out smaller issues with the -brothers- to the north?

I don’t know about you, but I feel all warm and fuzzy from this report. I think it’s cute that the policeman memorized a phrase in 13 languages for his job. I’d give him a pat on the back just for the effort.

And FYI, cynicism takes years off of your life.

I also agree that it’s refreshing to have a nice story for a change. Not that we should cut the Chinese government any slack, but people need to differentiate between government and people. There were friendly, kind, compassionate Nazis, too. Just because the political party sucks doesn’t mean that all of the people do, especially in a country so populous as China.

I still believe that they need to imporve their quality and respect the human rights, because that was just a merre image for me. Who can tell me that it is a true thing? Who can tell that all cops like this guy have this training?

Even I have to admit it’s a nice story.

I just wonder if he also knows how to say,

and

in each language.

It’s good that he learned it but I’m Spanish and I had to listen it 3 times to understand what was he saying. At first I didn’t know if it was Spanish or Chinese.

He is great. Yeah, and he looks friendly.
He might as well learn Korean too, otherwise….
Anyway, my crystal ball says that if Japanese athletes over-perform at Beijing, the media here will at least partially praise that on China, by having Japanese experts declare that the friendly Chinese cop was encouraging.
