South Korean government is not making a wise decision. Instead of looking for the past and historical issues only, SK should looking foward to future better relations with Japan. Another thing, both Korean and Japanese students have nothing to do with this issue, so the SK government should not avoid these both grups to participate in exchange programms which will help the both groups know each other culture and worldview.

People might also want to say that suggesting to take the issue to the international court is not fanatical but rational and it is childish/immature to say you proved Dokdo belongs to Korea by the documents and maps about other islands.
On other points, I wholeheartedly agree with you.

I know many Japan fanatics will automatically say Korea should give Dokdo/Takeshima to Japan and be done with it.

However, Dokdo has been proven to be Korea’s in the past.

I will say that Korea canceling its exchange programs is the most childish/immature thing they could do. It’s not the fault of the students. Why punish Japanese students willing to learn in Korea?

Also, the bird smashing on top of Japanese flags is just outrageous and uncalled for.

Exactly. These kind of reactionary behaviors further isolate the Korean people from their neighbors and do nothing to improve the dialog on issues of mutual importance.

Ultimately, these actions will be looked back on by Koreans as infinitely childish.

1. Korea somehow multiplied to 8 times it’s actual size.

2. The Japanese archipelago seems to have experienced the primary stage of entering a black hole.

3. The Sea of Japan was misspelled.

4. Hokkaido seems to have drifted away somewhere.

5. This map has gone through a timewarp either to the past or future when Korea is/was a single country and had no DMZ.
