Underwear thief stole women’s clothing so he could wear it
A Fuji TV report about a 58-year-old unemployed man who was arrested for stealing women’s underwear:
The man was discovered by watchful police who stopped him while riding a bicycle on June 26th, discovering that he was carrying several items of freshly-stolen women’s underwear. Further investigation found about 320 articles of women’s clothing in his house, and it is believed that the man obtained this clothing through some 150 thefts he committed since 2007.

As the above screen captures of professional news illustrations from Fuji TV’s report show, the man stole the clothing so he could wear it. In fact, it seems he was actually wearing some women’s underwear at the time he was initially caught by police. When questioned, he said that he had been interested in women’s underwear since he was a child, and wearing it helped him relax.

I mean, it’s bad that he stole stuff, but I’m sure there are lots of old men who enjoy wearing women’s undergarments in private. Not to mention that since people hang this stuff up just outside their homes, and some probably within arms reach, it’s a pretty opportunistic crime, and thoroughly unimpressive…

Lock him up and throw away the key.

Throw away the key? Really? You equate this as something on par with murder? Come on. This is hardly indicative of some sort of irretrievably sick, monstrous mind. Guys the world over are keenly interested in the undergarments of the fairer sex, and I daresay a good number of them have even tried on a pair themselves for a larf or more. It’s just the relatively small bunch that steals them, and this crime should be treated as what it is: petty theft. The media and the police themselves seem to be doing everything possible to play up the salacious angle. Are illustrations really necessary to understand what happened? Of course not. Are they fun/funny? Sure. Do the cops really need to lovingly arrange the thousands of panties on display, as if we won’t believe them unless concrete proof is on offer? Nope. But I’m sure they had a good time setting it up, after nicking the best stuff first.

Although visual kei sucks hardcore, I don’t really recall Malice Mizer writing anything about panty theft

Too bad he never learned to buy things on the internet. :\ Or maybe he was a kleptomaniac too. An unfortunate combination.

But who authorize the further investigation, I don’t understand, the police ask him to stop his bicycle and register him without more than that?
To carry underwear in a bicycle is meritorious of “further investigations”?

You assume that the man refused to admit he stole the underwear.
