It was minor rumbling for about 10 seconds before it started to shake violently for what felt like a solid minute. News reported it as 6.8 on Japanese Intensity Scale. Amazing there are no reported deaths or collapsed buildings up north. It was just .1 point under the Niigata Chuetsu quake back in 2004. We felt it quite strongly here in Fukushima.
