Unexploded US Bomb found in Osaka

An unexploded WW2 American bomb was disposed of in Osaka yesterday, forcing the temporary evacuation of about 5400 residents:

An SDF bomb squad successfully diffused the weapon in less than an hour.

It’s funny to see how this continues to go on. In Italy (where I’m from) it would happen every now and then that yet another american bomb would be found and that some area of the cities would be mass evacuated.
Always sounds ridiculous to evacuate 5k+ citizens for a bomb 40+ years old… but then you find out that those bombs can really explode and you realize the danger…

It’s really disturbing.
Last week I read about a few smaller bombs having been found in the earth near a playground at the town where I live. Apparently the earth has been transported to the playground a few weeks ago from somewhere else to fill up some holes or something like that.

To think that people might still get hurt or killed by weapons from a war that has been over for more than 60 years now makes me sick and sad.

As I said in the comment of a previous news like this, we still have plenty of incidents like in France.
But as a bonus, some areas alos have the unexploded World War ONE bombs…(east of France as you can guess)
