16 melons wounded in vicious knife attack

The crime rate is dropping in Japan, but media coverage of scary crimes seems to be at an all-time high. Today Asahi TV’s national news reported on a supermarket in Yamanashi Prefecture discovering knife slashes on 16 melons that had been on display in front of the store:

LOL! Oh yeah, THAT’S important!…lol. Am I the only one that thinks one of those melons slashes my then look like this: -_- or ^_^ LOL!

I notice that they listed the cost of the loss at ~8000 yen. That’s about 500 yen per melon. That poor poor retailer, who probably was selling them for 2500 yen per melon, as is usual.

There is a melon killer on the loose!
